Superior Farms is the largest employee-owned lamb producer in the United States. It was founded in Ellensburg, Washington back in 1963. It is the largest vertically integrated lamb supplier in the United States. Its developed system today, allows full traceability from the farm to plate. American lamb is meat from a sheep less than one year of age. Their average weight is 60-70 kg, and they are fed natural grains to make a bigger cut size with a higher meat-to-bone ratio than other types of lamb.
